Run script on a device

Run a script on a managed device to perform troubleshooting tasks. The Direct Support tool lets you select and run Automation Manager policies or other scripts on the device.

  1. Go to Views > All Devices and select the Network Devices tab.
  2. Select the device Name.
  3. Go to Tools > Task Execution.
  4. Configure the Run Task settings: 
    • Type : Automation Policy or Scripting.
    • Repository Item : Select an item and enter the required parameters, such as command-line arguments, input or output values, if applicable.
    • Run with: Select the credentials the task should use.
    • Execution Timeout: Set the maximum time, in hours, that a task can run before it is stopped automatically.

    5. If you select Custom Credentials, enter the User Name and Password.

  5. Select Run.

The current task status and results appear in the Output pane on the right. Select Refresh Now to update the information for tasks running on the device.
